Sergio Martínez Cifuentes, Nace en Concepción, Chile, el 7 de julio de 1966. En su primera etapa se adhiere al realismo descriptivo, mostrando gran dominio sobre las formas y un manejo contenido y elegante del color, siendo su tema principal el paisaje. El año 1987 realiza los primeros retratos y desnudos encontrándose con la figura humana, como un nuevo desafío. Esto lo comunica estrechamente con el desnudo que desde los 90 será el tema que cubre casi la totalidad de sus telas. Desde el 2000 al 2003, nos encontramos con un quiebre en su academismo que lo asocia al Pre-Rafaelismo, permitiendo que aparezcan interesantes rasgos de interpretación. Cambia el óleo por el acrílico, sus telas finas por otras de mayor textura, pero principalmente...
