René Tweehuysen ( Oude Bildtzijl, Netherlands )
René Tweehuysen (1957, Netherlands, Utrecht) completed his study at the University of the Arts Utrecht in 1983. René is typically a painter who works in the tradition of the Dutch art of painting. His portraits convey a modern atmosphere. In the technique used there are, however, similarities with the techniques of the 16th and 17th century Old Masters. He paints with oil and tempera on canvas or woodpanel. Recurring themes in René Tweehuysen’s work are: portraiture, human figure, urban/landscape and still life.
